Listings / Markings / Sophistication

Post by r0land »

Hello

I have feature requests for NoScript:

Blacklist / Temporary rules

I found the whitelist in the preferences.. but where is the blacklist with all of the forbidden (not trustworthy) scripts? And where is the listing for all the temporary rules?

Marking new rules

It would be nice if NoScript highlights or colors new rules (in the preferences listings) for 5, 10 or 30 days.. so it would be easier at a later time to find those rules and reject them if needed.. without asking myself if this is a working rule.. or if this is the rule I was searching for.

And one further idea: NoScript could remember that the 'idiot' in front of the computer temporary sets the same rule the second, third or fourth time.. and it could ask for a permanent rule.. or at least highlight this rule.

Any opinions on my requests?

Greetings,

Oops, found this one at the forums now:
Rules in a more sophisticated way

I hope that I'm right with the following example: I visit the xy-website which contains facebook-scripts. Then I tell NoScript that the facebook-scripts are not trustworthy. At a later time I visit the facebook-website.. which is not working because I told NoScript that the facebook-scripts are not trustworthy. Or the other way: I allow the scripts at the google-website.. and the google-scripts will be allowed at all other websites.

Is this correct? Thats what I have watched (with facebook). And there are many more websites which provides their scripts (google, amazon, youtube, advertising servers, ...).

It would be nice if NoScript saves/handles my rules in a more sophisticated way: Let me whitelist the google-scripts at the google-website.. let me blacklist the google-scripts at some other websites.. and let all other websites 'don't know' that there are google-rules. One more feature could be to pick some rules and tell NoScript to use them at every website.. not just at 1 or 2 websites.

Without specifying a "blacklist" specifically, all sites not specifically Allowed are relegated to a "blacklist" like status (i.e. not Allowed).

So if you never Allow anything then all sites (save for a few select defaulted Allow's) are (for all intents & purposes) "blacklisted".

ABE should allow you to Allow google-scripts on google only.

Thanks for answering. I know the way NoScript is working, mate.

But I am a little bit orderly: As long as there are notifications in the statusbar, as NoScript shows the orange bar or as NoScript plays the scirlp-sound every time I activate the tab.. until then I want take a look at the NoScript contextmenu and allow or disallow all of the scripts. I am glad only if NoScript doesn't report anything at a website.

@ ABE: This function is nice (maybe).. but not configurable by just one or two clicks on the NoScript icon.. hidden somewhere in the NoScript preferences.. just text to write.. not what I'm looking for.

Don't get me wrong.. I love NoScript and I love it's reliability and I love the amount of informations NoScript displays. But I love the smart way of interaction by the NoScript icon too. And I really love clean screens without any wasted space.. that's why I *have to* handle all of the notifications.
