How to block Silverlight on some trusted sites?

Post by Aspirant »

I followed the instructions from this site for blocking or deleting super cookies:
http://forums.comodo.com/other-security ... 123.0.html

I need to allow Silverlight on one frequently-used site, so my Adblock Plus configuration permits this. Between Firefox sessions, my configuration successfully blocked or deleted the super cookies created by this site:
http://samy.pl/evercookie/

However, my configuration still allows the Silverlight v1.1 script to run on http://www.bubblemark.com/
Apparently, Silverlight v1.1 uses JavaScript and HTML instead of .XAP files like later versions. If I check the NoScript embeddings option to "Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too", NoScript is able to block all Silverlight scripts on bubblemark.com. However, I don't see how to configure NoScript to allow Silverlight for only a few sites.

Here are my questions for Giorgio:
1. How does NoScript block Silverlight v1.1 scripts on whitelisted sites (that allow JavaScript)? Maybe I can emulate this with Adblock Plus.
2. Is Silverlight v1.1 capable of saving a super cookie via Isolated Storage? If not, I don't need to worry about blocking it.

Thanks

It blocks every attempt of loading content from the plugin unless the parent site is explicitly allowed from the "Blocked Objects" submenu.
Whether you can do something similar with Adblock Plus should be asked in its forum.

You do need to worry, according to Google.
