Can a choice for download be given?

I have DAP as my default download manager. When any downloadable file is clicked thru FIREFOX only , DAP brings a dialogue box ,whether a user wants the download to be "REGULAR" or "ACCELERATED"(when DAP activates). But thru FG it directly lands up to the save dialogue of DAP ,that is one step down. Can the first step be activated by any means?
