[RESOLVED] Rapidshare asks you to wait...

Post by Yesha »

I just upgraded to FlashGot 1.2.2.1 and now I'm getting an error/message when trying to download from RapidShare.

Image

On the screenshot there's a number, (129), but this isn't always the same.

What I am using:

WinXP SP3 -, all essential updates
Fx 3.6.10
FlashGot 1.2.2.1
Free Download Manager 3.0 build 871
RapidPro account

Selecting the links, rightclick > FlashGot Selection has always worked, but now I'm getting this message. It worked just fine until 1.2.2. :(

I just tried to download one link by pressing OK (in the message shown) and now FDM is trying to download a file called rsap.cgi. A search on this forum told me this isn't new, but I have a RapidPro account and it is set to direct downloads. It would be very annoying if I now manually have to login at rapidshare.com every time...

I just tried again with FlashGot 1.2.2 and it works like a charm, so it's definitely 1.2.2.1 that's to blame.

(Oh yeah, I meant rsapi.rs.)

But, are you already logged in your rapid pro account and have the direct downloads option enabled?
If you are, please try to clear your cookies both in Firefox and Internet Explorer, then log in again.

Notice that it's working perfectly here. However, should the above advices not suffice, you can try creating a flashgot.redir.rapidshare_com.enabled about:config boolean preference and setting it to false.

same problem here - neither clearing cookies nor setting about:config pref worked.
i think it's becouse new rapidshare.com checks if file is available first then logs in the user

how can i downgrade my version of flashget?

Sorry, there was a typo in the pref name.
It should be flashgot.redir.rapidshare_com.enabled. Create it as a boolean in about:config and set it to false.

However it's overly strange: could you show me the links/pages where you can see this happening?

Direct downloads option is already enabled. As for logging into my RapidPro account: I never had to this in the past. It always worked with FlashGot and FDM (which has a "site manager" with my RapidShare username and password).

This happens with every rapidshare.com I try to download (with Fx, FlashGot, FDM).

flashgot.redir.rapishare_com.enabled

Shouldn't this be rapiDshare_com ? In any case, this didn't work either.

Then I saw mstk's message about the settings, so I checked my settings. Recently, I changed Download Server Settings. Instead of the all being random, I set the first one to Deutsche Telekom.

This worked (!) in 1.2.2, but not in 1.2.2.1. I have now changed it back to Random (default) and this seems to work with 1.2.2.1... (I guess it was Gremlins?)

Having same problem since update. not sure why the heck Flashgot needs to login to rapidshare to copy a link to a download manager and why there is no settings about this in the actual settings area..

Seems iffy if you ask me, i dont want flashGot logging me in or even checking if the files are there.. i just want it to send the damn links to jdownloader...

How do i downgrade this pointless and annoying update.

@ Darren Cook

Are you sure RapidShare is set to direct downloads (they did a reset recently) and servers are set to Random (default) ? The latter solved the problem for me.

Anyway, if you want 1.2.2 back, then here's where you can find it: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /versions/

I confirm that there is a problem since the recent update.

The previous update allowed the passing of RS links to FreeDownloadManager without being logged into to an RS via the browser via "FlashGot Selection". In the latest update an error message pops up in the middle of the browser when a RS DL is active. The number in brackets in the error message shown at the beginning of this thread varies.

@clowg, @asloane:
Again, the work-around is creating a flashgot.redir.rapidshare_com.enabled boolean about:config preference and setting it to false.
Notice also that once you're logged in, the session cookie is persisted for one entire week after the last download, so there's no real advantage in relying on the download manager to store the credentials (not all the download managers allow that, BTW).
