Confused, do I use the additional restrictions in embeddding

Post by vaisforlovers »

 I know this may be silly but I don't know whether I am supposed to click all the "forbids" (additional restrictions for untrusted sites) in the embeddings settings? And enable apply to whitelisted sites also? I read the help sections but I still couldn't figure out this. I think I am thinking too hard about it and just getting more confused every time I go to the help section.
And I know you guys will help and maybe not laugh too hard!!!
Thank you very much for any help.

Just keep the default settings, they're the optimal balance between security and usability for "normal" users.

So the default options are all of the "forbid" are unchecked?
Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your help.
The default is all the "forbid" checked except <FRAME> and <IFRAME>.
Notice that you can revert to the defaults at any time by using the "Reset" button in the NoScript Options dialog.

I very often visit beliefnet.com. It's shocking how many sites I have to wait for, before a page opens. So I got No Script, because I'm new to all of this and I want to be safe when I browse.

The thing is, I've checked the OPTIONS link on No Script, and I cant find anything that will let me view the posting toolbar (That contains the font codes, img codes, etc... in order to create a post) at Beliefnet, or watch youtube videos that are linked in a thread. Instead, when I go to post it's the most basic window wherein I can enter my remarks and that's it.

This probably all makes no sense to genius computer people. But could you let me know what I have to look for on the NS OPTIONS link, so I can fix this :?:

Thank you for your patience with an obvious non-genius at the keyboard.

What do I need to do in order to try posting and reproduce your problem?

Wow that's odd. I have no idea what you have to do to "Quote" my post and answer.
In any event, I guess what I was asking is how do I get a site to show the tool bar, (like the one that appears here when drafting a posting where all the IMG URL Font Colour buttons appear) , and permit Video's, like flash and media player, to appear?
Thank you again. :)

You need to select both "Allow beliefnet.com" and "Allow onesite.com".
