NS and Yahoo

Post by keith »

Whenever I install NS in FF3 using Mepis linux , NS causes FF to freeze when trying to access http://au.games.yahoo.com/ ( with java-- jre1.6.0_13 installed ) , and will continue to freeze until I remove the libjavaplugin_oji.so link ( as per http://www.java.com/en/download/help/50 ... extracting ) to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins and restart FF, then if I disable/uninstall NS and re-link libjavaplugin_oji.so , FF still continues to freeze until I purge/re-install FF. On another machine using Mepis linux, NS, FF and Yahoo games work flawlessly without any problems using the same procedure . Any help greatly appreciated

Did you remember to uncheck "Forbid Java" in NS > Options > Plugins?
I was able to download AlphaBlast (game chosen at random from that site) with no problems at all. However, we're on different platforms, so someone with that OS might have to try to reproduce your problem.

Identical OS, identical versions of NS and FF? If so, check that *every* config setting is the same between the two machines. Perhaps try using the NS Synchronization Guides in this thread -- you sound advanced enough to use the shorter version at the bottom. If that doesn't work, try synchronizing Fx config settings as well. This page may help.

If identical OS, NS versions, etc. produce two different results, it would seem to be in the settings. Let us know what happens.
