time out problem
time out problem
hi,
I'm firefox user and not new to flashgot... fantastic plugin. I have the updated version. xp 32 sp3.
but from 2 weeks I have a strange problem with flashgot... I must disable it... because it cause an instantly timeout of firefox... with out that firefox display any error message.
the issue is that I try to load or reload any website...the throbber work but firefox doesn't load nothing. I have also fasterfox installed.
I must shoot down firefox from taskmanager... because restart won't work.
every time I try to enable it I got this problem... while I writing here... I had again the same problem with your site... but flashgot isn't enabled.
have you a solution for the probelm?
and I don't installed any new addons. is there a list of addons that could interfere with flashgot?
thank you in advance

Re: time out problem
Then, most likely, the timeout problem is not caused by NoScript but by networking problem of your Internet Service Provider...jinj wrote:while I writing here... I had again the same problem with your site... but flashgot isn't enabled.

Re: time out problem
yes,
but flashgot increase the problem dramatically.
I can't load any page if flashgot is enabled! only the google home page!
about the time out with your site... the problem seams to be related with some forums!

Re: time out problem
Please notice that FlashGot can't interfere with your networking in any way, unless you launch a download.jinj wrote:yes,

You should try Standard Diagnostic, while keeping FlashGot enabled, to check whether some other extension is tampering with FlashGot in any way, causing this combined effect.

Re: time out problem
well..
I try what you suggested... one more time. but I had tried it more than once in the past...
and that is exactly the way how I find out that flashgot is the extension that cause the issue.
when flashgot is enabled firefox isn't usable for me.
the other timeout problem is most probably related to some forum setting. but this is also a never had problem.
thank you for your help.

Did you actually try on a clean profile with just FlashGot installed?

Hi Giorgio,
I try your tip... I completely trash the mozzilla folder! I start firefox clean... then I install flashgot...
after restarting again... instantly timeout problem...
I was able to load google.it and your site wasn't loaded...only the logo.
can't understand why this is happen.... I was satisfied from both...firefox and flashgot... and now it seams that they won't work no more together on my system.

about:pluginsWhat plugins do you have?
If you start FF in -safe-mode, though do keep FlashGot enabled (pretty sure FF can do that?), does the problem persist?

Re: time out problem
the problem don't persist... but it's like all addons are disabled or not installed in a Firefox normal session.therube wrote:about:pluginsWhat plugins do you have?

Re: time out problem
hi,
finally I find out what was wrong with my firefox and flashgot.
there was a conflict between firefox and a small utility software called prio.exe
I uninstalled prio.exe and now it's all ok... I downloaded another similar application that do the same job.
