noscript 2.0.2.3 FF 3.6.8 fails to allow whitelisted scripts

Post by Solace »

NS 2.0.2.3+FF 3.6.8 fails to allow certain menus/links to work despite allow scripts globally is checked. examples are the security mode drop down menu in the linksys wrt54g router cpanel for wireless auth type. the logitech download buttons for drivers/software, along with some others i cannot remember off the top of my head. the only solution/work around after trial/error testing of disabling plugins/addons was to disable the latest noscript version.

I have a similar issue with the site www.commbank.com.au (whitelisted).
When using their secure pages of account transactions I get Javascript not enabled, even if I globally allow all in noscript.
Am running noscript ver 2.0.2.3 and FF ver 3.0.16

Do you get any error (red) or info (blue) message in Tools|Error Console when this happens?

Same here. Since the last update, i'm having a little issue.

JS menus/dropdown and similar on sites i've whitelisted are no longer working.

Using a clean profile, Fx 3.6.8 (Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0) all defaults.
NS latest development version, all defaults except embeddeds blocked on trusted, Certificate Patrol, ShowIP.
Can't reproduce at any of the 3 https://*.commbank.com.au/netbank servers.
Logon routine working.
All menus working.
No NS messages in Error Console.
No errors after several Fx restarts.

just tried on a fresh copy of ff by deleting the profile and installign nothing but no script. same results, can be reproduced easily as well for the router page/dropdown menus.

your issue lies in build 2.0.2rc9 i believe since this is where it first occurs upon simple trial and error from previous builds. any version prior will provide flawless results and anything later is same results. now to make things simpler you just need to beable to reproduce the error on your side. if you can get your hands on a wrt54g linksys router V8.008 for firmware/router version it will have the same results. if unable to i would be able to give temporary remote access to obtain whatever is needed. if remote access is required just give me a email/aim/irc sn to msg to contact later.

Anybody got anything concrete to post in this thread?
So far there are a couple of menus that won't work, and a whitelist that won't stick, and nobody's posted any error messages or information messages from the console. Just some usual old coding warnings and some errors that appear to be because a script can't run - is that because the googleapi whitelisting won't stick?
Any screenshots of what's not working, and how it should work from anyone in the thread? Which logitech site? What does the router web interface look like?
At the hd-united.com site, everything ran ok here if hd-united and googleapis were allowed.

Oh wow. I wonder how did that happen. All along, i've always got everything working. I don't recall blocking/not allowing googleapis.
I just allowed it and it's working now! Even on a couple extra sites that no longer was working, does now! That saved me a LOT of
trouble. Here i am thinking if i should completely uninstall FF and work my way up from scratch.

Thank you very much for the assistance!

what it initially looks like "assuming the encryption has been previously set prior to accessing the page with noscript.

after you attempt to select any of the dropdown menus.

2.0.2rc9 is the first build of which the problem starts occurring in. rc8 works fine along with any previous builds.

there is no "error/warning/information" msgs in the ff error console. also the logitech site was actually related to a different plugin disregard that report. =

The only relevant change between rc8 and rc9 is about surrogates.
Does your problem go away if you set the noscript.surrogate.enabled about:config preference to false?

I can confirm, that changing noscript.surrogate.enable to false solved the problems i had with ff 3.6.8 and noscript 2.0.2.3 on Ubuntu 10.04.

As far as i could analyse it, noscript blocked all window.open-calls in javascript, although the complete site was enabled. Only deactivating noscript in ff made it work again (which, of course, is no solution at all). Interestingly, calling the same site with https-protocol didn't produce the problem.

Now everything works like before. Thanks a lot !
