Is this better for a user agent? I use NetBarrier to block all information on my computer.

If you're concerned about your privacy, blanking or modifying your user-agent, counter-intuitively, is a bad idea; apart from websites breaking or becoming suspicious of you (like Ma1's blog here), it makes it easier to fingerprint you across the web. Also, telling the bad guys exactly what security software and operating system you're using is never a good idea either.
