98rc1 is behaving incorrectly

Post by GµårÐïåñ »

I opened my browser this morning and it prompted to install the 98rc1 and I did. However, after it was done and restarted the browser, now things don't work right. Example:

1. Although maps.google.com was previously allowed, it now shows up on the list waiting to be acted upon and although I have multiple domain level options, it ONLY shows the full path (including http) and nothing else. See below:

Image

A. as you can see, no google.com, maps.google.com, http://maps.google.com like it should normally provide (IF NOT ALREADY ALLOWED) which in my case it was but not being recognized.

B. it has that goofy looking bracket with suggests something else is going on because that only comes up when you use a pattern like 192.168.1 in your list and a domain matches that, not the case here.

So can someone tell me what's going on?

ALSO: Is there an option through GUI (which I haven't seen) or within the backend about:config to disable that Recently Blocked menu, I really don't care to know that and I really don't need that information maintained for me, there should be a way to disable that and leave it for those who want it and need it and not those who don't, like me.

NoScript Options|Advanced|HTTPS|Forbid active web content unless it comes from a secure (HTTPS) connection: if it's set to anything different than "Never" (the default), please set it this way.
Otherwise, it can only be an extensions conflict: please try Standard Diagnostic.

Just uncheck NoScript Options|Appearance|Recently blocked sites.

"Brackets" mentioned a lot recently, Why do I need to enable a domain each time I return to a tab. Was related to Load Tabs Progressively extension, in that case.

Thank you for the reply my friend. I had it only set to the when using Thor (recommended), otherwise, it was not active for all, but I have gone ahead and set that to never per your instructions. However, still no difference, it shows up as seen in the picture I have posted (minus the recently blocked which is now gone) and has the brackets around it. So anything else we can try or anything else that could be causing this?
Otherwise, it can only be an extensions conflict: please try Standard Diagnostic.
I suppose anything is possible, but my extensions have not changed (meaning I have not added or removed anything recently) so other than NS updates and couple of other minor updates for others, nothing has changed, so I wouldn't expect that but as I said, its possible as any change could introduce something.
Just uncheck NoScript Options|Appearance|Recently blocked sites.
Thank you sir, it was a brain fart and I have looked on that page many times but apparently when we added that there, it just got lost in the sea of things there and I overlooked it :P my apologies, and thanks.

Yeah, it might be but unfortunately I don't have that extension. So, not going to help me but its good to know, thank you.

Could you try disabling all your extensions and restarting the browser?
Also, did you perhaps start using a proxy recently?

1. I disabled all extension except NoScript and restarted, then the maps.google.com was showing gstatic.com and google.com on the allowed and everything looked like it should and always has. No more brackets.

2. Then, I re-enabled ALL of my extensions and restarted, then, the site STILL works just fine and no more sign of that previous bracket situation with the full url instead of the two separate gstatic and google items like it should. So what happened here? If there was an extension conflict, then re-enabling everything should have caused the problem again, right? but it didn't, so what made the problem go away and resolve itself?

No sir, no proxy.

Maybe you did not restart the browser when you changed the HTTPS permissions option?

I wish I could say with certainty if I had or not but I am not sure. I am most likely to have done it but again since I can't remember for sure, I won't say. I will just chalk it up to that for now, will keep an eye on it and see if it comes back.
