[FIXED] facebook

Post by justdave49 »

having a problem on my laptop with facebook, I can login and go to other facebook pages but I don't have the 'older posts' link at the bottom of my home page, also when I go to pages like 'messages' the peripheral stuff loads on that page but the messages in the center of the page doesn't load, same on 'friends' page, everything loads except the list of friends in the center

if I disable NoScript in my FF AddOns it all works????

I'm seeing this too, with 1.9.9.87 in Fx 3.6.3. It seems that if I log into Facebook with NoScript disabled, then enable NoScript and restart Firefox, Facebook will be fine until I log out and in again. Then the symptoms described in the previous post appear. While the "Older Posts" button-link doesn't appear on the News Feed, it does when viewing someone else's wall. Clicking it scrolls to the top of the page (a "#" is appended to the URL) and an error appears in the Error Console: "ProfileStream is not defined" and below this message it shows the current URL (which I'm assuming is recorded as the source of the error). I can't find anything else suspicious in the Error console; I wonder if this is just a Javascript error and not something from NoScript.

Let me know if I can do something to help pin down the source of this problem.

Does the problem persist if you clear all your facebook-related cookies, allow facebook.com and fbcdn.net and always log in when you've got the site allowed?

Unfortunately, yes, the problem persists with cleared cookies and the two domains allowed before login.

In an interesting twist, I rolled my Firefox profile back to Thursday's backup with Noscript 1.9.9.81 and Facebook worked fine. I then updated Noscript back up to 1.9.9.87 and Facebook seems to work fine. I'm not sure what to say now.

I have the same problems with facebook. I had no problem until the upgrade to .87. I deleted cookies, uninstalled .87 installed .81, same problem, resolved by disabling noscript.
I hope you can resolve this as I find your add-on very helpful. Thanks for creating it.

Followup- I did manage to enable the facebook scripts that were not allowed, after re-installing .87.
I'm not sure what I did that worked, so I don't know that I have any useful info to pass along...

Next follow up- Lost the "older posts" and "latest posts" again... with both facebook.com and fbcdn.net allowed.

Does this persist even if you've got all your extensions disabled except NoScritp?

I'm sorry to have missed your reply. My problems eventually sorted out after giving noscript a rest, and I have since gradually upgraded to 2.0.3 with no problems. Sorry again to have not followed up, but I have no idea what fixed my problem.
Thanks again for a useful tool.

Oops - I don't want to say this but I'm back to where I was, with facebook "older posts" function killed by V. 2.0.3 and by V. 2.0.3.2, after several months of no problems. I'm assuming it is a problem on my end, but I can't sort it out... I'd love to solve this problem as I've gotten used to being able to block all the crap that some sites create, and it pains me to disable this nice tool so I can see my friend's posts.
