Cannot use format tools in a forum

Post by terrypin »

I've just posted to this Google Earth forum:
http://www.gearthhacks.com/forums/showt ... sing-Tours
but was unable to apply any formatting (bold, line breaks, etc). I had to go to IE to do so.

This happened once before in the same forum, and that turned out to be because NoScript was blocking it. Yet now I have a plain (white, 'all clear') NoScript icon showing for that page, so that can presumably no longer be the issue?

In case it's relevant, maybe I should also add that with this latest version of FF I'm frequently getting pages that appear with no 'styles'. Using Ctl+F5 usually restores them.

Do you get any error (red) message in Tools|Error Console when this happens?

I've never used that diagnostic tool before - thanks for pointing it up, Giorgio.

However, so far I haven't the skill to interpret it. Are those entries listed with the most recent at the top? (Why no date/time record?)

The initial default display shows WARNINGS. In there I first have scores of identical entries:

Warning: The 'charCode' property of a keyup event should not be used. The value is meaningless.
Source File: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul
Line: 0

Then there many like this:
Warning: assignment to undeclared variable google_ad_client
Source File: http://forums.mozillazine.org/posting.p ... &p=9476645
Line: 105

and this:
Warning: assignment to undeclared variable google_color_link
Source File: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... 5#p9480845
Line: 114

etc

Under ERRORS I have just a single entry:

Error: google.History is undefined
Source File: http://www.google.com/cse?cx=0032583250 ... p%3Ff%3D38
Line: 3

Any help you or any of the other experts can give me on these would be much appreciated please.

Giorgo: Are you the very same Giorgio who is the author of the excellent WallPaper Slideshow Pro?

Here we go again. I apparently cannot post without entering my username and a two word 'key'. I did so but then got the message

"The username you entered is already in use, please select an alternative."

Well, it would be in use , wouldn't it, as I'm using it! Hmm - I'll try in IE instead.

Formatting works for me in that forum, Terry. http://www.gearthhacks.com/forums/showt ... #post57270

All I had to do was Allow gearthhacks.com. Otherwise I'm using using the default NoScript settings.
