[RESOLVED] Youtube doesn't play on WIndows 7 with NoScript?

Post by goverthana »

Hi,

I have recently installed no script and it helps me a lot from annoying pop-ups but I have encountered this problem on youtube although as described below on the FAQ section, I've checked on the whitelist and ytimg.com is there. Please kindly help on this matter.

"5.3
Q: Movies are not working on the YouTube site. Why does it say I must enable JavaScript and Flash even if I already allowed youtube.com?
A: YouTube recently split its content across two domains, likely for performance reasons. Therefore you must allow both youtube.com and ytimg.com (you're probably missing the latter). "

I am running on Windows 7 64bit OS and I have installed the latest version of Adobe from their website

Thinking you have something else going on.

URL of this Youtube video that does not play?

If you disable NoScript (in Addons Manager) & restart does Youtube play?
If you start FF in -safe-mode, does Youtube play?

PS: At this point in time, ytimg.com is not even needed, only youtube.com. You might want ytimg.com for a bit better 'tube experience, but not needed.

I have did what you have told and still the same nothing - still asks for plug-in installation and I have found the problem thanks to your solutions, I was able to source out the problem, cause I've checked under Add-Ons and there weren't any Flash PLayers installed, this is a new PC and I recently Installed Adobe Flash from Internet Explorer and chose globally install for all browsers and I thought it installed for Firefox too but it didn't therefore sorry for the hassle after running the installation from Firefox now its working :D
