Release numbers?

Post by Jojo999 »

Just curious, but What is going on with the "count-up" on new release numbers of NS? You seem to be incrementing by .01 for each new release.

When you get to 1.99.99 will you start incrementing by .001? :)

Is something major going to happen when you get to release 2.0? Is there some reason why you don't want to reach release 2.0?

Giorgio does not seem to like incrementing version labels past 9. He had to do it for the least significant label, for the sake of AMO, but is till holding out for the others. The major version bump is reserved for planned major interface/conceptual changes, but C and B (A.B.C.D) should probably have been incremented, going by the features.

IMHO he should make it 2.0 and postpone the planned 2.0 to 3.0.
