Hello all,
I was wondering if somebody could help me here. I've been using Flashgot for about a year now with no problems. I've just tried it today and I'm getting some problems with it. I tried to download several Flash Video Files (.flv), but for some reason now Flashgot is just saving them as File. See the Screenshot below. I'm having problems posting the screenshot, so there's a direct link to it at the bottom of this message.
I've been able to rename these files to the proper file extension (.flv) and they work, but my question is why is this happening and how to I fix this? How can I get Flashgot to work like it used to? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sample URL: Cm Punk En Madrid (SPAIN) firmando autografos.
It may depend on your download manager.
There were settings implemented to rename the download file based upon the page "title", but that did not work with all download managers.
I had thought (from what I remembered) that youtube would rename with Orbit Downloader. But trying just now, all that (both) Orbit (& known in Net Transport) give me is a file named, "video.flv". So perhaps there has been a change on youtube affecting the naming?
Using (Browser Built In) does seem to be naming the file as expected.
Some items to look at:
30 some years later & still kickin', Jethro Tull: Ian Anderson 's Flute Solo (07/31/1976).

Some items to look at:
Code: Select all
+ flashgot.dmsopts.dmname.stripHash preference to
remove hash from URLs for download managers messing
with it (enabled by default for Net Transport 2)
+ flashgot.media.guessName preference to control
FlashGot Media file name extrapolation
+ flashgot.media.forceNameHack preference to control
hash-based hack to force extrapolated file name on
external download managers
