rocking support from therube

Post by theruberrocks »

Couldn't believe adobe were forcing their web installer on firefox again!
Thousand thanks to therube for seeking out the standalone installer that I could trust.

Hah!
What a crock. When running FF, you're offered some McAfee crapola & an Adobe DLM (download manager, I suppose).

Luckily SeaMonkey users see none of that, only giving you the Flash download .exe itself.

(Temporarily spoof your UA, general.useragent.extra.firefox to SeaMonkey/2.0 & you can see the difference. One time when poor browser sniffing goes in our favor ;-). Don't forget to reset the UA.)

Lightbulb. Thanks. Not everybody wants ActiveX, or Flash. And if I am forced to use Flash with all its insecurities, it's some really bad attitude that wants to make me use ActiveX with the process too. You rock, dear :-)
