Flashgot for Google Chrome?

Post by mightymousie »

I love this product. So much, that I swap browsers just to use it on specific things. However, my crappy computer makes it painful to run firefox without much difficulty. Has generating a similar feature for Google Chrome ever been considered?

It's been considered, but at this moment is impossible because the Chrome extensions API is still not adequate.

You should also check out the FlashPlus extension for Chrome. It is lets you resize, move, maximize, download flash movies and games on web pages. With this, you can watch movies in full screen, darken the area around the movie player or play flash games without distractions.
The extension is at http://bit.ly/flashplus

FlashPlus is an extension that helps you manage flash content on web pages.

* Drag or resize flash movie files on any webpage.
* Maximize flash content to the whole browser window.
* Darken the areas around the flash content.

But this extension only changes the dimensions of flash on the web page. Scaling Flash with or without Aspect Ratio is something that the flash movie decides. Hence, the extension cannot really tweak that. If the flash movie wants a width and height of 100%, the scaling is not based on aspect ration.

if you could make a tool that is similar to flashgot but works within chrome's restrictions at the moment, then maybe it'll be good!

Any news on this? Chrome extensions have moved forward a bit now.

I used to love this program when I was using Firefox. Chrome needs you!

How about flashget? Is that the same as Flashgot? I mean, the main reason why I don't want to use google chrome is that it lacks some feature compared to mozilla firefox. Google chrome is fast (from what I've read) but still, it's incomplete. I hope they can add flashgot soon to google chrome and the greatest escape of google chrome from being a beta..^^
