Split Browser Add-On Problems w/No Script Context Menu

Post by CentauriBoy »

I'm having a problem with NoScript's context menu during a split window using the Split Browser add-on for Firefox. It won't allow me to activate the page using the "Allow page..." and/or "Temporarily allow..." options.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Install Split Browser Add-On to Firefox.
2) Open a new tab with any URL that will be affected by NoScript.
3) On the new tab, right click to bring up context menu and select "Split Tab to" and select any option (e.g. Right).
4) Right click on new split window to bring up context menu. Select "NoScript" and observe that "Allow page..." and "Temporarily allow..." are absent.

FireFox Add-on: Split Browser (http://piro.sakura.ne.jp/xul/_splitbrowser.html.en) or (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4287)

On the same note, if you open the same URL on the main (parent) split window, the context menu appears correct. But when you select one of those options, it does not refresh the other (child) split window. Hoping that makes sense. I also noticed that NoScript doesn't report on the bottom of the split window.

I love NoScript, keep up the good work! =]

Unfortunately, due to the way NoScript interacts with the content area and the hacks used by Split Browser to duplicate it, the two extensions are barely compatible.
You can use the "Recently blocked sites" menu to partially work-around.

Thanks for the info.

I found out that the Tile Tabs add-on for Firefox is a better solution. It works the same way as Split Browser. NoScript's context menu, refreshing the window, and bottom information all work correctly.
