Global install on Firefox 3.5.8 of Noscript 1.9.9.47

Post by Ralph »

Howdy,
I want to install NoScript globally on an Ubuntu 9.10 image I am creating. I want it to be global, so that machines made from this image will have noscript for whatever accounts are created. I tried installing with the -install-global-extension option. I get similar errors to those reported in these forums for Firefox 3.0.13 and 3.0.14. Is there a way to install noscript globally. If I am going to deploy noscript on the machines we are building to give away, we need it to be automatic. I can't count on the users to install it.
Thank you,

Howdy,
I followed those instructions on a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10. I ran the install command:
sudo firefox -install-global-extension noscript-1.9.9.47.xpi
Then, I copied the xpi file as indicated:
sudo cp noscript-1.9.9.47.xpi /usr/lib/firefox-addons/extensions/

Then, I try to start firefox. Nothing visible happens for a bit and then it dies. If I run it from the command line, I see a warning about g_set_prgname() called multiple times. There are no other errors, but Firefox is not running.
Good day,
Ralph
