metric.xxx.com scripts

Post by DrMorbius »

I've noticed metric.xxx.com entries noted in the status line as being 'waiting for ..' on some websites. There is no entry in the script list to block/unblock this site url. One site I noticed these on is HTTP://WWW.CNN.COM. When you click on a story several site urls are shown as they load and the final one appears as 'metric.cnn.com'. This url takes upto 1 to 3 seconds to complete what is probably some data collection. I would love to be able to block this on the web sites that are using it. Thanks.

It's not a script, is just an image.
You can block it by enabling NoScript Options|Advanced|Trusted|Forbid web bugs.

I think it's in the NoScript Options|Advanced|Untrusted pane.
