I've been using NoScript for the past year and a half or so. After the last update, I noticed that it was not working correctly. Adds weren't showing up, but there was no flash tag for them. The settings were identical to what I've always used. Yesterday, however, the adds were up in full force. I went to my Add-Ons and NoScript was highlighted and said (still does): "This add-on will be installed when Firefox is restarted". I've restarted FireFox manually. I've used the button. I've cancelled the install and reinstalled NoScript (both manually and using the direct add to Add-Ons on the download page). Apparently, there's nothing I can do to get this working. I miss the security I had before and would really like to get this back up.
I've also tried looking for my profile and settings, and they can't be found anywhere on my computer, which really strikes me as odd.

Re: NoScript blocked on install after last update
That looks like an Add-Ons Manager corruption.
Could you try to follow the steps outlined in this article?

Also, if you've got an extension called " HP Smart Web Printing" please uninstall it: it's buggy and known to cause this problem.

OK, renamed the three files. When I started Firefox back up, NoScript still wasn't installed. All three files were created. Here's the log file for this latest restart:
I've looked in my extension folder and there are 3 {73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232} directories and a "-trash" directory as well. Could this be part of the problem?

Re: NoScript blocked on install after last update
Maybe, try to delete them while Firefox is not running.Dracoth wrote:I've looked in my extension folder and there are 3 {73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232} directories and a "-trash" directory as well. Could this be part of the problem?
Also, the "failed to back up" message in your log hints at some disk space or permission issue. Maybe with your temporary directory?

Re: NoScript blocked on install after last update
Thanks for the advice, but that's exactly what I did. I know you can't play with files that are actively being written to. I just tried it again, regardless, and the same thing occurred.

Re: NoScript blocked on install after last update
Could you try disabling all the other extensions and check if that helps?Dracoth wrote:Thanks for the advice, but that's exactly what I did. I know you can't play with files that are actively being written to. I just tried it again, regardless, and the same thing occurred.
If it does, please perform Standard Diagnostic.

Re: NoScript blocked on install after last update
Interesting.
When I disabled all of the active add-ons and restarted, FireFox came right back up. Checked the Add-On manager, and everything was exactly how it was before I disabled and restarted. I'm thinking something else might be corrupted on my computer.
I'm going to try reinstalling firefox completely and see what that does for me.

Re: NoScript blocked on install after last update
Rather than reinstalling Firefox (which usually serves no purpose), you'd probably better try http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_ ... ew_profileDracoth wrote:When I disabled all of the active add-ons and restarted, FireFox came right back up.
