xp32sp3, Fx 3.6.0, NS 1.9.9.42, RP 0.5.12, new profile
I've noticed what seems to be a slower, staggered, jerky, loading of some pages (including this forum), where a partially rendered, not fully themed page is first displayed and then refreshed. Here is a screencap video: http://rapidshare.com/files/343278054/ns-rp.wmv.html (playable with WMP, SMPlayer)
I've narrowed it down to a combination of NS and RP, disabling either makes the page load quicker, in an non staggered, non jerky manner.
To repro:
1) start with a new profile with NS and RP
2) go to http://www.phpbb.com/
3) do a Shift+Reload (Ctrl+F5) several times, and you will see the described effect
4) disabling NS or RP or both makes the page load normally

Re: possible rendering slowdown due to RequestPolicy interaction
RequestPolicy is the only culprit. It causes this issues even if it is the only extension installed.

Re: possible rendering slowdown due to RequestPolicy interaction
I just followed my own repro directions on a new clean profile. After installing only RP, I did not see the issue, it started after installing NS. Disabling either fixes it. I'll file a bug at RP, but it's definitely an interaction of the two for me.Giorgio Maone wrote:RequestPolicy is the only culprit. It causes this issues even if it is the only extension installed.

@al_9x:
I can reproduce it on a clean profile with just RP installed, but just for curiosity sake, could you check if installing either GreaseMonkey or Adblock Plus instead of NoScript triggers the problem for you?

Neither GM nor ABP along side RP trigger it. Here's a capture of shift+reloading with all three installed:Giorgio Maone wrote:@al_9x:

It's normal, same as with no extensions, only with NS + RP do I get the abnormal loading.

Re: possible rendering slowdown due to RequestPolicy interaction
Me too. With just RP installed in a new test profile, I get the slower, staggered, jerky, loading of the page when I press Ctrl+F5 on http://www.phpbb.com/, just like in ns-rp.wmv. I haven't changed any of RP's settings. Do I need to change some RP settings to get a smooth reload?Giorgio Maone wrote:@al_9x:

On a clean profile without any extensions at all, I get a smooth reload of http://www.phpbb.com/, just like in ns-rp-norm.wmv.

I didn't change any RP settings, went with a default (international) whitelist.Alan Baxter wrote:Me too. I created a RP ticket: https://www.requestpolicy.com/dev/ticket/75
perhaps you can comment there that RP alone causes this for you, I described it as an extension conflict/interaction, since that is what I am seeing.
