Web bugs can be blocked with no-script in the advanced settings for Un-trusted sites, can we have this feature in trusted sites also?

I used Ghostery previously along with No-Script, but now found out that Ghostery has been bought by an advertising company Better Advertising

No, because it would need to be fed with a huge blacklist, which is definitely out of NoScript's scope.
You can achieve similar results by adding Adblock Plus with the EasyPrivacy subscription list.

@TheRube - Checking my user agent eh?, SRWare Iron is a different kettle of fish , I know it still has its failings though, which is why I prefer FF on linux.

Pardon my curiosity, but if web bugs can be blocked in untrusted sites (presume without a blacklist), then cant the same method be used to block all of them in trusted?

NoScript blocks a specific kind of web bugs, i.e. images contained in <NOSCRIPT> elements.
The rationale behind this choice is that most web bugs try to collect as much data as possible about your browser and PC configuration, by using scripts, therefore NpoScript users are utomatically protected by this super-invasive behavior on untrusted page.

Also, most if not all the web bugs are served by 3rd party sources, therefore unless you explicitly allow tracking servers they're blocked even on trusted pages.

However, some pages still try to collect the minimum dataset available without scripting, which include your IP, an unique cookie identifier and the very information that you've got scripts disabled. This is achieved by using a static image, which is embedded inside a <NOSCRIPT> element in order not to overlap with the regular, rich script-based dataset. This kind of web bugs, which target specifically the most privacy conscious users (those who already disable scripts) are also the ones which can be reliably blocked by NoScript with no side-effects, since they can be easily discriminated from legitimate image loads by checking the parent nodes.

The bottom line is that NoScript blocks most if not all the web bugs, unless you allow everything indiscriminately.
