When I go to IGN.com the site finishes loading, but after it's done loading Firefox goes to a blank gray screen. I can usually refresh the page and it works ok. I'm pretty sure this is due to Noscript. Any help?

Are you certain the problem's due to NoScript?
In other words, if you disable NoScript, does IGN.com load properly?

It can also be a black screen. It's not every time, probably around 25%.

Have you allowed scripting from IGN.com?

FYI: I've been unable to reproduce your problem. Even with scripting, objects, etc. disabled on ign.com, I'm still able to view the page with no trouble.

Update NoScript to the most recent development build at http://noscript.net/getit#devel, then try these steps, in order, until NoScript is working right again.

1) The NoScript settings became messed up somehow. Reset the NoScript Options by pressing Reset at the bottom of the Options dialog. Export your whitelist before doing that if you've added any trusted or untrusted sites you'd like to restore after NoScript is working again.

2) The extensions database is corrupted. Exit Firefox, delete the files mentioned here in this linked article, restart Firefox. Uncorrupted versions of the files will be automatically regenerated. Corrupt_extension_files

3) There might be an extension conflict. Use the Add-ons manager to temporarily disable any other Firefox extensions you have installed, except for NoScript.

4) Perform a Standard Diagnostic. If NoScript isn't working by the time you get to the "Create a new profile" step, a new profile with no other extensions besides NoScript should work right.

Ditto here, even on Fx 2.20 -- no problems. It indeed sounds like an extension conflict - i. e., NS is not at fault, but another extension is conflicting with NS.

If computerfreaker's excellent suggestions don't work: Could you please open Firefox Tools > Error Console, click "Errors", and copy any red Error messages and paste them here? Also please click "Messages", and post here any messages relating to NoScript.

Could you please post your list of extensions also?

I tried every step and it still doesn't work.

It seems to work when I just allow ign.com but when I allow ignimgs.com thats when it starts to occur.

I even uninstalled Firefox and removed my profile and the application directory, and just installed noscript and that didn't even work.

here's the error messages.

if you allow ignimgs.com, you need to allow snowball.com (another IGN-owned domain) as well.

Now I'm able to reproduce this.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to ign.com
2. Temporarily allow ign.com; page reloads
3. Temporarily allow ignimgs.com; page reloads and stops on a gray screen
4. Manually reload.com ign.com; page reloads correctly
5. Close ign.com but leave temp permissions intact; reopen ign.com and page loads correctly

Can be reproduced? AFAICT, always.

I'm not sure just what's going on here, but I'm going to guess some of the page's JavaScript isn't reacting too nicely to the NS reload.

EDIT: Just saw Mr. Maone's reply.

1. Go to ign.com
2. Temporarily allow ign.com; page reloads
3. Temporarily allow ignimgs.com; page reloads and stops on a gray screen
4. Temporarily allow snowball.com; page reloads correctly

I don't seem to find that necessary on F2. Will try on F3. (i. e., ignimgs.com allowed, snowball not allowed, can't reproduce the issue.)

Edit: Although the page reloaded correctly the first time, as above, when tried with a fresh browser there is indeed a problem on F2, but slightly different. The page starts to load correctly, then suddenly goes to blank white. Disregard the above. Cure is as said.
