I've found something else that's weird --and it does seem that NS is the problem as this hasn't happened until I upgraded to 1.9.9.18.
Whenever Mozilla pops up, your site also pops up in a separate tag --no matter what I set the options to. It's as if it doesn't like the options I set and auto-resets them whenever I shut down Mozilla.
And just in case you forget:
Pentium 4 running at 2.39GHz, 768M of RAM
Windows XP service pack 3, all updates installed as of this post
Zone Alarm (firewall only)
avast! anti-virus, version 4.8
Webroot SpySweeper (anti-spyware), version 6.1.0 (build 145)
Firefox 3.5.5 {Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)}
Extensions:
Adblock Plus 1.1.1
Adobe DLM (download manager for Adobe products), version 1,6,2,48
IDM FlashPlugin version 4.1.0.077 (used solely for watching movies on Gaia Online)
Java Quickstarter 1.0
Tektek Gaia Online (http://www.gaiaonline.com) toolbar 2.1 (not sure if this is the latest version)
Plug-ins:
Adobe Acrobat (reading .pdf files), version 9.1.0.163
getPlusPlus for Adobe, version 1.6.2.48
IDM Flash Plug-in, version 4.1.0.077
Java Deployment Toolkit, version 6.0.170.4
Java(tm) Platform SE 6 U13, version 6.0.130.3
Java(tm) Platform SE 6 U17 version 6.0.170.4
Microsoft DRM (Netscape Network Object), version 9.0.0.4503
Microsoft DRM (DRM Store Netscape plug-in), version 9.0.0.4503
Mozilla Default plug-in, version 1.0.0.15
Popcap Games plug-in (for use on http://www.popcap.com ), version 7.6.4.0
Shockwave Flash, version 10.0.32.18
Shockwave for Director (Netscape plug-in), version 11.5.1.601
QuickTime plug-in for Mozilla/Netscape, version 7.6.4.0
(grayed out) Windows Presentation Foundation, version 3.5.30729.1
==============================================================
I know that's a lot, but most of that is needed for various sites. For example: Gaia Online uses Flash for all their mini-games & the MMORPG, while it uses Shockwave for the Housing Arranger (you get one free house to decorate as you wish to), and Java is needed for some of the "surprise" gifts that pop up from time to time.
But this problem didn't pop up until I updated NS to the present build when prompted to. So now what's going on here? Can it be fixed?

Re: Another weird thing with NS.....
Could you check if other Firefox preference are persisted?
I suspect you're experiencing this issue (which, however, is unrelated to NoScript).

I tried that, and it still happened... so I uninstalled Mozilla & started over fresh.
I still think it's something that NS did; I'll install it again when I see it's been fixed.

Re: Another weird thing with NS.....
Since there is obviously insufficient evidence that it is indeed an NS issue, I recommend you don't jump to conclusions and we can't fix what we can't detect or know. You are welcome to do what you want but consider something else you are doing might be the problem and the blame is misplaced. Good luck.

It's much more likely something that Firefox did.Ketira wrote:I tried that, and it still happened... so I uninstalled Mozilla & started over fresh.

Which is fixed in the next release: Fx 3.5.6 and Fx 3.0.16. The estimated release date is currently next week on 15 December.Giorgio Maone wrote:It's much more likely something that Firefox did.
