Every YouTube file has no extension

To elaborate, I have used FlashGot for years, it works. I use it for porno (works fine, usually) and YouTube music videos. The YouTube videos download ok, but I have to rename every file to ".flv" This only started happening recently. I know, YouTube is probably at fault, but short of using a bulk renamer, is there a tweak? FlashGot must know it is downloading an flv file, but it saves the YouTube file with the correct filename, but "_videoplayback" instead of ".flv"

Obviously this is a Windows Vista system. Never had a problem with flv/mp4....

It works for me. Could you point me to a specific page where it breaks?

I use it fine and it shows the flv. The problem I have encountered is that on certain videos recently, it won't detect anymore. Its not on every video I have assumed its something on my end but it might not be.

What download manager are you using?
Have you made (manual) changes to your FlashGot Preferences, in particular flashgot.media.forceNameHack or flashgot.media.guessName?

Since I am not sure who the question is directed to, let me answer for myself, I use DTA but my problem is that it won't detect it, not that it detects it without the flv, I just assumed that it might be related and it might be worthwhile for Giorgio to know, that's all, in case it helps him narrow it down.

Could this problem be caused by Vista (Windows NT 6.0+) onwards?

No because I use personally 3 machines that are Vista/Win7 and have no issues as you describe.
