Feature Request: NoScript Sidebar in Firefox

Aloha,

Would like to suggest the addition of a sidebar in Firefox for NoScript. The intention is that it can be made visible to show real-time information about sites -- which domains are loaded, which type of script technology are used, the blocking/unblocking or trusting/distrusting of domains on the fly, etc. It'd probably be similar to the menu pop-up but always visible and can maybe be used as a UI for managing the untrusted/trusted sites lists, etc. With the onslaught of widescreen monitors, I think it'd be a fine fit.

Perhaps it could also include a search box for searching the forums for help... using Google of course (so those 'words too common' messages won't pop-up)!

I'd also like to suggest the ability to turn certain technologies on and off for a specific site. I'd like to control whether Flash, Java, Javascript, iFrames, external domains, cookies, or even images are enabled for that particular site, instead of 'everything trusted or not trusted' as it is for most cases. As it is now, I can control cookies via Firefox, but NoScript is way more convenient as far as accessibility goes.

It sometimes seems like there should be an overhaul in the UI management for NoScript (like moving most of the configuration to a site-centric list rather than within global tabs), but overall I'm very happy with it. Thanks for a great product!

(Maybe some of this is already in the works along side the URL specific permissions, or perhaps it'd be too much overhead or complexity. Anyway, just some ideas...)

The post hasn't attracted any comments from other users after several weeks, so there does not seem to be a great demand for this feature.
(Personally, I have a wide screen because I like a wide screen view, and would rather not narrow it back down to the old days by adding a lot of sidebars. But that's just MHO, and everyone's mileage may vary. )

Yes. See Site-Specific Permissions, a long-running thread, and a feature to be included in the next-generation NoScript. (Release date not known yet.)

Sorry I didn't comment earlier. I usually avoid commenting on every feature request or adding me-toos if they're only lukewarm ones.

I'd find something that persistent useful at times. (My lukewarm me-too)

I suppose that could be convenient, but a link to the forums may be a better alternative. By the way, I use the forum searchbar or a site search from the Firefox searchbar. I usually prefer the built-in forum search. I think the forum admin can add individual common words to what's indexed for the forum searches if you ask over in Metaforum.
