No NS icon

Post by Martyn »

Hi

No script is working however the icon on the bottom right of the screen has vanished. I've only just noticed its gone and no idea what caused it. Ive tried uninstalling and re-downloading and it wont work.

This is the only extension i use so im not sure if something is conflicting, can plugins conflict?

Any help would be great
Thanks

Do you have the status bar icon turned off?
Go into the NoScript Options dialog, then the Appearance tab; make sure the "Status Bar Icon" checkbox is checked.

Do you have the .NET addon?
Try disabling the Windows Presentation Foundation plugin and the .NET addon if you have them, restart Firefox, and see if that fixes it.

If that doesn't work, create a new profile and see if the problem persists.

I wouldn't export settings if I were you - one of your settings might have been the cause of the problem. However, you could try manually copying your settings - writing them down/saving them to a text file or whatever, than manually re-setting them for your new profile.
As for backing up your bookmarks...
Go to the Bookmarks menu, then click the "Organize Bookmarks" menu item. A dialog will open; click the "Import and backup" dropdown button. Hit the "Export HTML" item in the menu that will appear, then select the location to export your bookmarks.
Then, go into your new profile and repeat the same steps, only this time choose "Import HTML" instead of "Export HTML". Locate the file you exported your bookmarks into, and Firefox will automatically import your bookmarks.

HTH!
