[NoScript failed to block script on certain website?]
Hi,
I went to a website Firefox gave me an error message that it was down The no script icon was showing as not blocking
any scripts but when I clicked on it there was an item in the list that was greyed out saying "forbid neterror" I believe. But it wasn't
possible to block it since it was greyed out. and I right clicked and viewed source on the page and it came up completely blank.
Anyway just to be safe I immediately closed down the browser and unplugged my internet.
I have no idea if a script actually ran on that page or not. If the website was really down why did it show that greyed out forbid option?
I'm concerned that this site blocked no script while pretending to be down. Is that something that's even possible?
I don't have any websites I know are down right now to compare but I'm just nervous about what happened so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I checked on Norton and the page was deemed unsafe according to them with threats detected.

Re: NoScript failed to block script on certain website?
www.512j.com does exist & the page does load.
The NoScript icon shows everything blocked.
ultima.512j.com returns Address Not Found, could not be found.
So in that case, no page was loaded, so NoScript show "all clear" is OK (I believe).
(Though the icon does show <SCRIPT>:2, one of which would be about:neterror, so in that respect there could be a bit of confusion.)

Re: NoScript failed to block script on certain website?
Thanks for the reply I feel at ease to know that no scripts ran.
But what exactly is "about:neterror" and why is it greyed out?

I'll hazard a guess that about:neterror is an internal mechanism that Mozilla uses to display network error messages.
