Web of Trust

Post by gar37bic »

As a long time user and supporter of NS, I was thinking of one minor frustration, and came up with a solution.

My frustration is that when reviewing the various script sources on the list, I often don't have any idea of what the site does - is it something I want or don't want?

My solution is to add the Web Of Trust results icon to the NoScript list entries, if the user has WOT installed and the option is turned on in NoScript. This would provide an additional piece of relevant information, without adding to the need for additional support and maintenance by NoScript. It's not perfect but it would be useful.

It is possible that this combination would be synergistic for both NS and WOT.

Slightly irrelevant, but IMHO relevant enough...
I have had WOT installed on a few occasions, but had to uninstall it each and every time because it's so infernally slow to load page info. (Plus, if WOT's disabled, then you enable it and switch to another page, it will re-load the whole page - VERY slow as well)
NoScript's speed is extremely nice to have - slowing it down with calls to WOT would be a nightmare...

Just my 2c worth.
