Facebook issue v1.9.9.01
Facebook issue v1.9.9.01
I have been having problem with Facebook and some other sites using VBB Forums. These started immediately after upgrading to v1.9.9.01 via Mozilla site. I subsequently visited the NoScript site and upgraded to v1.9.9.07 and still had the same problems.
I uninstalled and still had the same problems so I've re-installed v 1.9.9.01. I had convinced myself that NoScript could not be the problem until I read this post (http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopi ... 83&start=0) which described almost identical symptoms. I've exported, reset and re-imported but that did not work either.
The strange thing is that I know the problems are around javascript execution and that the sites work fine in IE. The only extension I use that even touchs javascript is noscript. Is it possible that a Firefox setting was changed by noscript and that the uninstall did not reset that setting to it's previous value?

Could you describe your symptoms in deeper details?

Re: Facebook issue v1.9.9.01
On Facebook the box that says "What's on your mind" on my page or "Write Something" on a group page normally clears and the font colour changes to black (from light gray) when you click on it. This is not happening any more.
At the bottom of your home page there is a "Older Posts" link in a light blue box, it does not appear at all.
ON Vbb Forums (Powered by vBulletin® Version 3.8.1 unsure of addons/extensions) the javascript controls in the post editor to change font, colour, size, formats are not responsive. The "Manage Attachments" button is not displayed.

Please try to forbid everything you can see in NoScript's menu on those pages and, after that, allow those sites again.

Re: Facebook issue v1.9.9.01
I tried that before posting.....
Something weird just happened.... the Facebook box responded.... I refreshed the page and now it's not working again....
I have uninstalled NOSCRIPT completely now so I'm almost certain that it's not any active thing that NOSCRIPT is doing when a page is retrieved. My concern now is that NOSCRIPT changed a Firefox setting....

OK... I got everything working again.... CTRL-F5 on each page has refreshed cached code?
I had restarted Firefox and rebooted the computer multiple times and it never occurred to me that I had a corrupted cache that was still being used....

I'm having the same problem with the text box not clearing and when typing the text stays gray. It doesn't always happen by any stretch, but often enough that I decided to start searching for the problem. I'm also having a problem with the CSS not always loading as reported here on the Mozilla forums:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &p=7726435
I originally thought it was NoScript related, but disabling AdBlock seems to fix it -- though that could just be coincidence as it only occurs intermittently. Anybody have additional thoughts or observations?

I should add them I'm running NoScript 1.9.9.07, AdBlock 1.1.1 and Firefox 3.5.3.

Re: Facebook issue v1.9.9.01
Does your problem persist with latest development build 1.9.9.10?

Re: Facebook issue v1.9.9.01
I went ahead and installed that. I'll run it for a while and see if the CSS problem pops up again. Thanks Giorgio!

Re: Facebook issue v1.9.9.01
I haven't had the problem since switching to that development build, so hopefully that fixed whatever was broken. If anything stops working again I'll post about it. Thanks :)

FaceBook Links after installing v. 1.9.9.07
Some links in facebook not available and/or not functioning, i.e., viewing friends list, hiding wall posts and unsubscribing from groups, etc.. This all happened after installing latest version 1.9.9.07. Disabling works fine. Uninstalling and rolling back to previous version(1.9.9.01) will not work!!!! I have 1.9.9.01 installed in another machine and have experienced absolutely no problems with facebook. Anybody else have this problem.

Re: FaceBook Links after installing v. 1.9.9.07
Could you check if the problem persist in 1.9.9.11, after using shift+F5 (deep reload) on the malfunctioning page?

I'm having the same issue -- but it worked after I temporarily allowed "about:blank". Don't know if this helps.
