The "latest development build", NoScript 1.9.9.09, is a little further down the page. Click on unofficial development build. It's the version Giorgio and the rest of us are using. It's not an experimental or beta version.

I have the exactly same problem: Confirmed that NoScript is affecting Firefox Search box dropdown history box. I tried NoScript 1.9.9.09 but the problem persists. Dropdown arrow does not open the dropdown box (so no history shown), no search term suggestions.
I am using latest version of Firefox and google toolbar Version 6.1.20090917Wb1.
Note: I use the "Classic" google tooldbar and NoScript only affects the Firefox box. The search box part of Google Toolbar (upper right corner) still dropsdown, suggests search terms and shows history.
Is there any fix to this problem?

You will get a file with 6.1.20091007W (as of today), which I installed in other computer and again, the search toolbar was affected. I disabled NoScript and functionality returned.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2 GTB6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Notice that it doesn't come from a NoScript change (I checked past NoScript versions up to 1.9.7.x), but rather from a GT change.
It's quite hard to investigate, since GT is closed source, but I'm trying...
OK, found.
The bug is definitely theirs.
In facts, this feature doesn't work neither if you uninstall NoScript but disable Javascript using Firefox's Content preferences.
However there's a work-around: just open NoScript Options|Whitelist and add file://.
The best option would be GT developers implementing their "suggest_window.html" component in a browser origin which is whitelisted by default, rather than using a file:// URL.
It looks like Noscript has some conflict with the latest Google toolbar. When Noscript is enabled, the drop down menu of the search history of Google toolbar cannot be opened.
Anybody else has this same problem?

The «file://» workaround works for me running the 6.1.20091007L vrsion of the Google Toolbar on non-stable FF versions like 3.5.5pre (Shiretoko) and 3.7a1pre (Minefield) ; mille grazie, Giorgio ! Unfortunately, the list displayed is still limited to 10 entries....
