can't see yahoo mail attachment images

Apologies in advance if, after searching this forum among others, I *still* managed to miss an obvious fix...

I use yahoo mail (not the classic version), and just installed their yahoomailuploader (0.5) to allow for attaching multiple files at once, etc. which as I understand it installs yahoo's browser plus. Everything about this new option seems to work fine... except I cannot see the attachment preview image. I get a status bar saying the image is being attached, and I see the "check" icon that says the file's been attached, and the "X" to delete the attachment and even the rotate-image icon... but no tiny image! I'm just trying to attach jpegs I have stored on my hard drive.

The only thing that seems to allow the image to show up is disabling NS (1.9.8.86) entirely. Enabling NS and allowing scripts globally still prevents the image from showing up. I can enable ALL my extensions except for NS... and the image shows up, so apparently none of my other extensions are contributing to the problem, at least. (I do have AdBlockPlus installed, but it's currently disabled.)

Both yahoo.com and yimg.com are allowed. I tried allowing 216.xxx.yyy.zzz, which didn't fix things... Also, the image in question is associated with http://localhost:XXXXX, where XXXXX is a random 5-digit number that usually starts with a 5. (Have I demonstrated how ignorant I am yet? ) So I tried allowing local links in NS's options, but that didn't fix it either. Then I tried using Firefox (3.0.8)'s "view background image" option on the non-showing preview image, which threw up an ABE notification and directed me to the ABE tab in NS's options... the interior window read:

which I sort of understand from looking at the "What's ABE?" page, but I'm not feeling brave enough to monkey around with without feedback!

Hope all that tells you something useful... any ideas? I'm not sure if this is a yahoo thing, a firefox thing, or an NS thing, honestly, though I'm guessing it's not Firefox's issue. Thanks in advance for any help...

Does Error Console give any related message (Tools | Error Console or similar)?

Sorry for the late reply... work is eating my life. OK, tried attaching a file again in Yahoo! Mail... Error Console threw up a bazillion warnings within a minute, "expected declaration...", "unknown property...", "error in parsing value for property..." ... but the germane one seems to be as follows:

Try opening NoScript Options|Advanced|ABE, selecting the "SYSTEM" ruleset for editing and inserting the following rule in the beginning of the file:

Then save and press OK in the NoScript Options window.

Hm, hit another snag. Went to Options|Advanced|Abe, selected SYSTEM, clicked the "Edit" button... and Windows tells me it can't open SYSTEM.abe because it doesn't know what program to use, and asks me the usual a. search the web or b. designate an existing program options. Disabling the SYSTEM ruleset doesn't make it possible to edit the ruleset -- just throws up the same can't-open-it message. Searching online just pulls up various links to a program called DriverCure that claims the issue is due to outdated drivers.

Open it with \Windows\Notepad.exe (or any plain text editor of your choosing).

Still no joy, unfortunately.

Here's what I now have in the SYSTEM ruleset, just to be sure I didn't misunderstand your instructions:
