How do I disable these new swipe controls
Today I have noticed an interesting change in NoScript. If I swipe from the bottom right side of the screen – which I do a lot in normal scrolling – the NoScript logo will appear and it will open NoScript settings for the page.
How can I configure/disable this? It is much too easy to accidentally trigger, but I don't see any mention of this new feature anywhere.

Disable gestures on mobile
Since the latest update, NoScript seems to capture some of my swipes as some kind of gesture support. It happens accidentally far too often and is extremely disruptive. How do I turn this off?

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
I second this, was scrolling through comments on youtube and noticed it, went to see if I could turn it off in settings and found no option to do so. Please add the ability to disable this function as it is very annoying.

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
1. Which version of NoScript are you using exactly (it was too sensitive in 13.6.2, should be more calibrated in 13.6.3)?
2. If you're already on 13.6.3 and the problem persist, could you please describe the swipes that are wrongly intercepted (I'd like this to improve for everyone)
3. In next iteration I'm gonna add an option to disable it anyway.

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
Hello, this is happening to me as well, on 13.6.3
It detect swipes when i am trying to scroll down but with a slanted direction, (~30 degrees from vertical).
It would be great to have an option to disable as this happens a lot in practice.

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
Im on 13.6.3 and it seems to trigger most frequently when I drag my finger downwards on my screen at a slight angle but will also occasionally trigger on upward finger drags aswell.Giorgio Maone wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 6:36 pm 1. Whats the purpose of this behavior anyway? It feels like some sort of beta-function for developers.
How can it be disabled?

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
Yeah this is my problem rn. Only noticed today but wasn't sure if it was bc of browser or extension updates. I'm on a Samsung S23U in Firefox 148.0.1 with NoScript v13.6.3, both of which updated today (2026-03-02) it looks like.

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
According to the ChangeLog, this is 'Gesture S to open NS settings'
I'd like this surprising and currently intrusive new feature to be both modified and optional.
The angle that it triggers the capture of the gesture is about 225° (down and left). This is pretty identical to a standard down scroll by a right handed person using their phone single handedly.
Perhaps a mirrored option would be best so that right handers draw a backwards S, lefties can draw S and others may disable altogether.
I'm going to persist to see if my thumb can adjust, but I'd love this alteration to be made.

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
The rationale for this feature:
Trying to make it more usable in https://github.com/hackademix/noscript/issues/519.
Fixed in https://github.com/hackademix/noscript/issues/517."New Firefox for Android menu buries extensions deep down into a click pit. But now you can summon your NoScript quickly by sketching a "S" on the web page" (https://todon.eu/@ma1/116159805949455738)

Solid rationale and thanks for the term 'click pit'! Great description of Firefox's 'improvement'. I'll contribute ideas to the git.Giorgio Maone wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 10:23 am The rationale for this feature:"New Firefox for Android menu buries extensions deep down into a click pit. Thank you for a great addon, it's very useful.
But, I'm eagerly awaiting a way to disable all noscript gestures.

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
Please let us disable this gesture feature, this is insanely annoying. One update and your entire browsing experience gets worsened
I just disabled automatic extension updates in about:config (at least I hope so) because of this gesture nonsense. Did not even know they were on by default until know. Now I will be more careful about updating my addons

Re: Disable gestures on mobile
Seconding this - I keep accidentally triggering it while just trying to scroll.
