NoScript will not let me Trust Sites

Post by RealDavid40 »

I am using the latest Firefox but this started months ago with even earlier versions. If I set certain sites to be Trusted the icon still has a slight red glow and it refuses to fully trust the site I want to trust. Even if I set everything to Trusted and set the Disable Restrictions for this Tab it still will not trust the site. This is very frustrating. Any suggestions?

Thank You

How are you determining that Trusted status is not fully working?

Usually something on the page is not responding or can't be seen. Other than that the TRUSTED icon has a red ring around it. On sites that have a lot of scripts I will Trust the main script but the icon will still have a slight red ring indicating the blocked script is somehow tied to another script. So I'll attempt to TRUST other scripts until I discover the one that finally allows the main script I want Trusted to turn all white indicating that item is fully Trusted. But, for example I go to a site that has three scripts and the main script will not clear I will attempt to Trust the other scripts like I do with other site , but what happens is I trust all three items but the red ring remains around the main script icon and no matter what I try the main script remains partially blocked and the page will not function properly.

I hope that makes sense.

Here is one and I'll send others tomorrow:

NoScript sees three suspect items. if I trust all three the Trusted icon still has a red glow around it, like there is a dependent script that is still not trusted, but there are no other visible scripts to Trust.

The red glow around the Trusted icon is just a visual indicator showing you which element is focused. It has nothing to do with whether anything is blocked. If you go to NoScript Options > Appearance and change the icon theme, that glow will be blue instead.

As a test, does disabling NoScript (Tools > Add-ons and Themes > NoScript, click the toggle switch off) get the affected sites working?

Before attempting that I think I will uninstall it and then reinstall. I'll let you know how that turns out.

Thanks
