Questions about Noscript

Post by Wandy »

Hi.

I have two questions:
  • I'm missing an option i think existed in older versions, to "make temporary permissions on page permanent". Has it been removed?
  • I also think there was another option, to "not automatically refresh web pages on permissions change". Is there something like that?
Thanks.

Yes, because now it's pretty easy turning temp. TRUSTED to TRUSTED without menu elements moving around or having to reopen the menu.

This is gone as well, but might come back.

How is it done now?

Yes please, it would be nice if it was back. I have faced some cases where during an online order, i had two options. Either pressing a button to move to the next screen (which appeared only when the site realized that JavaScript was disabled) or trusting the site in NoScript. I chose the second but due to NoScript page refresh, i chose to reload the page, the payment did not proceed normally so i ended up calling the store and processing the order via phone.

What Giorgio means is, in NoScript Webext you just click the TRUSTED icon for the site(s) which permission you want permanent. In NoScript Classic you would've had to first Forbid the site, then Allow it.

I remember a button in the upperright corner of the NoScript menu (along with the others that's there), which allowed you to "make all temp permissions on current page permanent". This is not there anymore. If you had made 10 permissions temp (different sites), it was pretty useful.

You mean you had this in a NoScript Webext version? What version? I don't recall this and couldn't find it in even the very old NoScript Webext versions that work with current Firefox.

I'm not very sure but i thing i've seen it at some point in the last 3-4 months. Can't say i have a version number as you can imagine...

Maybe i remember it from an older Firefox version. I kept an esr FF for quite some time before eventually giving-up and upgrading to the newer FF versions with Webext plugins support.

Question about auto-reload

Post by Wandy »

Hi.

Is there a setting to disable auto-reloading of a page when closing the UI and the no-script settings have been changed? Sometimes it's very inconvenient to do that (for instance, when paying for something and you discover that there may be a couple of servers you may want to allow in the future).

EDIT: Great. From what i've just seen, i had asked the same question about 2 yrs ago. Giorgio's answer was:
This is gone as well, but might come back.
Well, will it??? :) Pretty please, with a cherry on top?
