So I'm on youtube trying to download a video, but when I right click and do 'FlashGot Media', it automatically saves as some random file type called 'File'. It doesn't give me the option to rename the file before I download it or anything.
How do I get FlashGot to save files in a type that's compatible with Windows movie maker?
Sorry if I'm being a n00b.

Re: File types
What download manager are you using?
Regardless of what the file is saved as, its' "type" is going to be that which it is.
So if the file is saved as "File.", simply rename it as "thenameiwant.flv" (with .flv being most likely its filetype).
(Depending upon the youtube video, & your selection during playback, you may also download a file as an .MP4 which may be more appropriate for WMM?)
(Now what Windows Movie Maker can handle, I have no idea?)
There are (at least) two FlashGot (about:config) settings to investigate, which may affect the file name "generated":
flashgot.media.forceNameHack
flashgot.media.guessName
