11.3 contextual policies

Post by guest »

Hi, nice to see contextual policies are actually happening. :D

But how to make them stick? I choose the website from the dropdown menu but if I look at it again it's back to be configured for every website.

They stick as soon as you change any capability, after selecting the top site as the context.
I'm realizing right now this might not be intuitive.
I might change it before the final release later today, not sure how, though.
Just saving the contextual permission as an exact copy of the ANY SITE entry as soon as you select it from the dropdown?
In this case, will the user be aware the same capabilities still apply on any site (i.e. you've got two identical entries for "ANY SITE" and this top site)?

Maybe changing the reset button to a save button as long as nothing has been saved?

Trying to get used to the animation.

Another thing I need to get used to:
When I configure e.g. googlevideo for youtube only, it will still be shown as custom on other sites, too. Sure, in a way googlevideo now has custom settings, but only valid on youtube, not anywhere else. Would it be possible to show it with it's actual settings, i.e. usually default, on all other sites?

Anyhow, I think a lot of people will appreciate contectual policies, I definitely will.
