Signing could not be verified

Post by sgsnoopy »

After installing 1.9.8 and restarting Firefox, NoScript told me that a newer version was available. Tried installing the latest version of NoScript, but it failed, with an error that signing could not be verified.

Works for me from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722. Try it from there.

It works fine, I have tried several times on different machines at both the homepage as well as AMO and they work fine. You might have just hit a bad mirror, refresh and try again.

@compwrenchb4u:
You very likely removed some CAs (Comodo and/or UserTrust) from your certificate store.

How do you solve that problem? I have the same error and download problems. If these certificates are the cause of the failure, is it possible to reinstall them?

I've Attempted to reinstall Firefox with no success.

You can try copying the cert8.db, key3.db and secmod.db files from a clean profile.

I did what you suggested... created a clean profile... copied the above files from the clean profile to my existing, original profile - after first renaming the original files (just in case). Copied to the following folders:

(C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default)
and
(C:\Documents and Settings\(Name)\Application Data\Mozilla\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default)

IT SEEMS TO WORK PERFECTLY ! I was able to download the newest version of NoScript without a problem.

Thank You.

How I managed to lose or delete my certificates is still a mystery.
