Problems logging into the Outlook

Post by Bencyc »

I seem to have the same acces denied problem when trying to log in Hotmail.
Disabling NS allows sign in.
I have not found any problems with other sites so far.
Started after the latest Firefox update to 73.0.
NS 11.013

Going to https://login.live.com/ I get the regular "Cant use this site with javascript disabled!" error message.

What url are you using when you get the error?

Looks like Hotmail opens to

https://outlook.live.com/mail

I have custom allowed https://outlook.live.com (script, frame, font, fetch)
and …office365.com (same ticks).

I suppose that here’s too much liberty for Hotmail, but Onedrive doesn’t work without.

I haven't noticed anything strange after updates.

I tried all those urls and the same ticks mentioned:

https://login.live.com/login
https://login.live.com/
https://outlook.live.com/mail

But cannot sign in unless NoScript disabled.
Abolishing cookies makes no difference.

Disabling NS is of course not a big thing but if other people can sign in with NS on, so I beleive it should possible for me too!

Instead of outlook.live.com, I need to allow login.live.com. And msauth.net on top of that.

Though it might be best just to allow whole live.com so you are less likely to run into any additional problems.

@Bencyc: Can you copypaste the error message you get or screenshot it?

When trying to sign in Hotmail.com page
https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/inbox

I allow trusted in NoScript "live.com" and "msauth.net" (there are no other alternatives)
after that there comes a new page saying:

"Something went wrong
We can't get that information right now. Please try again later.
More details...
Reffresh the page."

Signing in and "allowing globally all" succeeds only sometimes but then again when trying to log out there is no tick or place where to log out.
A problem to log out. The same thing with signing out when NS disabled.
(not completely removed)

Getting the same above mentioned errors with costco.com and
lowes.com pages in the beginning of the thread.

Wondering if the problem is with Firefox or NoScript.
Everything was working perfectly before Firefox update.

Try allowing office365.com and azureedge.net too. If you can't find them in the list, go to (NoScript Options -> Per-site Permissions) and add them there (click the red lock icons to change them to green).

However I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the Costco problem. Separating this to its own thread.

I think I managed to solve the problem.

There are quite a few various NoScript items in various stages when signing in Hotmail
which I rarely use.

By allowing javascript on
adnxs.com
olsvc.com
makes logging in and out possible now.

To make things sure I also allowed office365.com and azureedge.net

Those two lines are probably ad links which had to be accepted. Never seen them before.

Good to hear you got it working.

adnxs.com is definitely a tracking domain. Not much info on olsvc.com, but it is apparently owned by Microsoft.

Quite unfortunate if they require tracking scripts for login. Can't find any previous reports that either of these would be required but that doesn't mean that's not the case now. Also things seem to be different for different users.

I haven't adnxs.com or lsvc.com

on my permissions list at all.

Instead I have

...1drv.com
...onedrive.com
...office.net

which I suppose are only for Onedrive.

and indeed

...live.com
https//login.live.com

I've long since ceased understanding if those last two permissions are redundant but that's not the only thing I don't understand.

I haven't had any problems with loggin in to Hotmail = Outlook, but that Onedive is such a beast that I'm not sure if it's still working properly.
