chrome - requires reset for some sites.

Post by rwstyles »

On many web sites - Quora for example - will not run ANY script, even if allowed until I click the green reset button. Once I do that, it is okay for current session.

URL to Quora?
Do they have an "open" site (no un/pw required)?

Do you still have issues in a new, clean Profile with only NoScript installed?

What's this green reset button? Do you mean the reload one? Most pages require to be reloaded after allowing their script for them to run properly.

I have what I think is the same problem. When I visit a site that NoScript is already set up to allow, the allowed scripts don't work, breaking the functionality. When I click reload (either on the browser or the extension), the site works as desired. This affects some sites that I use dozens of times an hour, which is so inconvenient that I had to disable NoScript. I tried uMatrix and that works correctly with the same permission settings.

The problem was happening with Vivaldi in Windows 10 and with Vivaldi in Linux Mint. I had been using NoScript with Firefox for years without this problem.

Hi all. I don't know if my particular issue is the same as what's being described here, but I seem to be having a what I think is a similar issue. Every time I start or restart my web browser, the first time I load a web page, any page, doesn't matter what, ALL the scripts are knocked out even on sites I have explicitly allowed scripting to run on. To fix this, I have to hit the reload/refresh button in the browser and all is well until I close and restart my browser. I am using Brave, which is essentially Chrome. Is this in any way similar to what's being described here or am I in the wrong thread?

I could reproduce, finally.
Just to be clear: what I'm observing (on Chromium-based browser only, not Firefox) it's the first site to be loaded in after you launch the browser which is treated as it had no permission, no matter which preset it is actually set.
Investigating this, thanks.

@ Giorgio Maone
Just a confirmation. It is indeed the first page that is loaded when the browser is opened (in my case Chromium based Vivaldi). Have to refresh that to load correctly and then all the permissions after that for other URL's are working fine.

Extra info: this all is *per tab*. Each opened tab has to be refreshed before NoScript catches on.

Tried previous versions of NoScript: no effect.
Then tried bit older version of browser: succes. Everything is remembered now :) Using Vivaldi 2.6.1566.49.
For other Vivaldi users: you can get olderversions here https://vivaldi.com/download/archive/
Of course on your own risk, not updated to latest safety things and so on.

This should have been fixed in 11.0.10rc3, thanks everybody.
I've submitted it to the Chrome Store and review is pending. In the meanwhile you could try installing it as an unpacked extension by grabbin the zip from the link above and uncompressing it on a local directory, then use the dev mode installation option from chrome://extensions.
