Found out about NoScript about 6 months ago and am grateful to have it as I have had "weird" computer problems/glitches for years.

Anyhow, this is my first post and I did review the FAQ etc. but didn't find this particular issue:

This may or may not be a big deal to anyone but it sure annoys the heck out of me. Ever since yesterday I notice when I sign into my Gmail account there are several seconds of delay where the yellow NoScript bar is not showing below and the size of my inbox is a little off. Size meaning when I look at my "Inbox" the lines of different recipients I have messages from are larger than normal and the font is slightly larger too.

After several seconds it changes/resizes and switches to how it is usually viewed and the yellow NoScripts bar reappears below. Hopefully it's nothing serious but it is really, really distracting.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to correct it?

I can see a few seconds of delay where the yellow bar doesn't appear, presumably just because the page is still loading. Gmail tends to progressively load things via AJAX, so that seems normal enough. You can turn off the yellow bar if it's bothering you, via Options-Notifications.

I don't see any size/font changes, though...how big a change are we talking about? A few pixels, or something big?

Anyway, you can check on the NoScript menu whether Google's other script sites - like googleusercontent.com and gstatic.com - are being blocked, and try temporarily allowing them to see if that fixes the problem. You can also check the Error Console (Tools-Error Console or Ctrl+Shift+J) for any messages, but since nothing is actually being broken, that's less likely.

By the way, your Firefox version is no longer supported, so if your problem turns out to be a bug in Firefox, it probably won't get fixed...

I like Thrawn's first idea the best: Disable the "Blocked Script" messages, since the color of the NS icon tells a lot, and the Menu tells the rest.

Please create a clean profile from scratch. Install only NoScript, leaving all the defaults.
Does the problem still exist? If not, NoScript is not the culprit.

Try adding back your extensions, one at a time, until you find the one that causes the issue.
Then remove all the others, pairing only the suspected one with NoScript, to confirm that the remaining one is the issue.
If the problem is solved even with all add-ons reinstalled, then the previous profile was probably corrupt. Problem solved.

I don't have a gmail account, and so don't know what is needed. gstatic almost certainly is.
Look at it the other way: *Too many* scripts running, unnecessarily?
Try trimming the list of allowed, and compare some of the names of them in SOME SITES YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO ALLOW.

NoScript is not a cure-all for other glitches in a system. There is a strong chance of malware having run for all those years.
Scan with your anti-virus, then try MalwareBytes.org's free tool.

It's possible that other, non-malicious, glitches exist, which may need a thorough going-over by a professional examination of the machine.

I'd consider this whole "years of glitches" issue to be much more important that the single Gmail issue.
