[RESOLVED]Reference to undefined property noScriptService.js

Post by luntrus » Sat Apr 04, 2009 7:29 pm

Hi Giorgio Maone,

After upgrading to the latest nightly build I get the following warning in the error console: reference to undefined property (this.current.Win.wrappedJSobject || this.currentWin).noscriptOverlay
and well at line 601 reading
var overlay = this.currentWin && (this.currentWin.wrappedJSObject || this.currentWin).noscriptOverlay;
this found to originate from noScriptservice.js

What is this and what caused this, I have NoScript installed, as well as RequestPolicy, Perspectives, and PrefSwitch,
inside Minefield(Build 20090404054815)
Should this worry me?

Hi, luntrus. Does the problem persist with the latest NoScript dev build?

Hi Alan Baxter,

Well my friend, to begin with I will wait for the answer from the man himself, that is Giorgio Maone, and then I think I will venture out on the tiles and try your suggestion to see what happens, I ensure you I will get back here with the results.
Remember from spotting earlier reports on that particular warning an error was found and then a NoScript update was launched by the developer.
The error can be a genuine undefined property(var), but a misspelling somewhere in the code can also lead to this error being reported,

greets,

While we're waiting to hear from the man himself, would you be willing to test with the latest version of NoScript, 1.9.1.7? Giorgio might be interested in the test result too.

Edit: typo

Hi Alan Baxter,

After doing what you suggested, that error vanished immediately, found another:
Warning: reference to undefined property window["bsa" + (m && m[0] || "")]
Source file: http://noscript.net/k.js?0
Line: 135
if (!(window["bsa" + (m && m[0] || "")])) {
But that could easily be verified as coming from blocking noscript.net with the RequestPolicy extension active, so that is no issue after allowing the request,

One error less, 10 bonus points for you, Alan Baxter, good analysis!
