whitelist wildcard?

Post by jdigital »

I want to create a whitelist entry for *.fabrik.nytimes.com because the first part of the domain name varies,
for example: core17usw2.fabrik.nytimes.com

I already have nytimes.com on the list but that didn't help.

Thanks...

Having nytimes.com in your whitelist should suffice.
What is exactly broken and where?

That's what I thought, but the NoScript menu continues to show the option for the longer URL.

I took a screenshot of the NoScript menu: http://imagebin.org/301357

I don't understand why the fabrik.nytimes.com site is on the list if it is already covered by nytimes.com

With regard to the question "what is broken?", I thought I was having problems that were resolved by allowing the fabrik.nytimes.com sites, but I can't see any problems right now.

Thanks for your help!

Because the domain isn't core12usw2.fabrik.nytimes.com but

Code: Select all

core12usw2.fabrik.nytimes.com.
. The trailing dot means that that domain is a fully-qualified domain name.

I didn't notice the trailing dot.

Back to the original question, is there a way to add this to the whitelist?

Hi Giorgio, is there a way to add a wildcard'ed URL to the whitelist?
Thanks...

Can you just add it with the dot?

Code: Select all

nytimes.com.

Thanks, it looks like that might work.

Sorry for being so dense (no wonder Giorgio didn't reply).
