critical bug!

Post by Aerik »

All other extensions are stealthily being disabled on noscript.net and informaction.com ! This is in version 1.9.2 and this problem only exists as long as noscript is enabled.

WTF giorgio, WTF.

hackademix.net and flashgot.net seem fine.

What extensions?

adblock plus 1.0.2; Request Policy 0.5.5; ExExceptions 09.01.22.01; Tab Permissions 09.04.09.01; Host exceptions 09.01.18.01

Latest 2 nightly builds of Shiretoko.

I right-click the images and "block images from noscript.net" is checked. So why is it there?

Even the fact that I have images disabled in the whole browser is ignored.

I've gone back to 1.9.1.91 and the problem went away.

It may be something isolated in the pre-release nightly versions and not necessary NoScript. Perhaps its triggering an error and its having some kind cascade effect based on the beta release code instabilities. Otherwise, not happening here.

These nightly builds came with the extra message that they're highly recommended. I think that means this latest build has all the security issues and bugs fixed that Firefox 3.0.9 does.

Perhaps, I am just not sure and I was offering the only thing I know while waiting for other feedback.

Hadn't realized you were running Shiretoko.
Highly recommended? By whom?
The whole point of a "nightly", much less a nightly of the next development version is that it breaks stuff, & you use it with that understanding ;-). And if you're not comfortable with that, then you don't use it.

Well every other day or so I go to help > check for updates and it just says "there's an update available." fine, I update.

But every once in a while it also says "it is highly recommended you install this update." That's what I was talking about.

In fact only minutes before this post, I installed 3.5b5pre. I just bumped up a version. I think the official release of beta 4 will be out today. Hopefully the bug goes away.

What I was trying to say initially and therube expressed it too is that by virtue of being an active beta development, they are bound to have issues that could cause many things to not work but you insisted that wasn't it, so I let it go but keep in mind that no matter how many updates (recommended or otherwise) its a work in progress and therefore will NEVER be perfect until all the kinks are worked out by release time and even then there is no guarantee all the kinks were removed. Just saying.

Yeah it seems to be related. I was already pointed to that page by somebody else.

Wanting to know if it was Shiretoko, narrow it down to a specific build(s) or if it really was just me, I posted this issue to Reddit. Several other people are having the same problem with images and adblock plus with ns 1.9.2

I confirm you've fixed the issues in 1.9.2.1
