any difference between 2.1.2.5 and 2.1.2.5rc1

Post by bmail »

Had to install a new profile in firefox 5 and am rebuilding my add on's...in my previous profile I had NoScript version 2.1.2.5rc1. I just installed NoScript but it says it is version 2.1.2.5. What's the difference and why didn't it install the rc1 version?

Hi bmail,
I think version 2.1.2.5 is the most recent stable release.
I don't think 2.1.2.5rc1 is available any more (I think I was on it at one point too).
However, 5rc1 - if it were available, would be older than 2.1.2.5

I think 2.1.2.6rc1 is functionally very similar to 2.1.2.5

At the end of June and beginning of July 2011 many people were accidentally switched to the beta channel by a glitch at AMO.
See http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopi ... =10&t=6756
It is possible that you were one of these people.

Personally, I am happy to try the betas.

I use the "Recent all builds..." feed http://noscript.net/feed?c=200&t=a (see above), and I check the forum, to 'see what I'm about to receive'.

2.1.2.5rc1 is the last and only rc build before 2.1.2.5. They are identical, except 2.1.2.5 won't be automatically updated with the most recent bug fixes in a timely manner. You can get back on the rc channel by installing the latest development build, 2.1.2.6rc6.
