Question about NoScript and Firefox cache
Question about NoScript and Firefox cache
Today I got an alert from Microsoft Security Essentials about some javascript in my Firefox cache associated with some adware that causes popup ads. I know for sure that the sites I was on at the time were not whitelisted in NoScript. Should NoScript have prevented this javascript from getting into the cache in the first place, or does NoScript prevent the script from running once it gets in the cache?

Re: Question about NoScript and Firefox cache
If it's a JavaScript file (i.e. *.js) it shouldn't be downloaded at all and doesn't get cached.
But most likely it's an iframe containing an inline script: as such, it gets downloaded and cached (unless you turn on frame blocking in the NoScript Options|Embeddings panel) but the script cannot run anyway.
