So, I added the domains mentioned in the FAQ. Now google maps works so far that it actually looks up the command and returns a map.
But the map doesn't get a streetplan. The image that serves as the streetplan won't load, no matter how I zoom in or out, no matter which address.
Did ubiquity or google maps change or add a service perhaps? I read that this problem is very old, so the sites to add to the whitelist might not be up to date.
