NoScript blocking site - need help debugging

Post by pokeefe0001 »

NoScript on FireFox is blocking my attempt to log onto the BitDefender Central login page
https://login.bitdefender.com/central/l ... itdefender

NoScript finds 4 script URLs on that page and I've set them to "safe" - first temporarily and now permanently. There are no nested/cascaded scripts. When I enter my userid and password the login page is redisplayed with the fields reset. The URL is now
https://login.bitdefender.com/central/l ... itdefender

If I disable NoScript the login succeeds. If I use Chrome (with or without its version of NoScript) the login succeeds.

I'm assuming there is another page with another script that I don't see but that NoScript blocks - a feeble guess.

Is there a NoScript tool that logs blocked sites or blocked scripts? If so, I could hopefully find the offending script and "whitelist" its page.

There's a FireFox Dev tool that collects network data, but understanding it is a bit above my pay grade.

Update:
I did a little more testing and have very confusing results. I created a new FF profile, installed NoScript, and was able to log onto BitDefender with no problem. The problem seems to be a combination of my profile, NoScript, and the BitDefender web site.

Try clearing you bitdefender cookies?

Try using this as your starting page to log in, https://login.bitdefender.com/central/l ... lang=en_AU?

One of my first debugging steps was to delete all BitDefender cookies and clear my FF cache. That didn't help.

It turns out that I had a corrupted FF profile that I'd moved around to 3 of our 4 computers. I have no idea how this could have caused problems only when NoScript was active and only for the BitDefender login. When rebuilding the FF profile I used a FF extention to export cookies from the old profile and import them into the new. One corrupted cookie was found and not imported. The corrupted cookie was not displayed. I suppose it could have been a BitDefender cookie that FF could not delete.

Anyway, all is well now. NoScript was just an innocent bystander.
