Palemoon and facebook messenger

Post by thosrtanner »

Hi. Over the past few days, something has changed in messenger and now, even with the latest 'classic' noscript (5.1.9), if I log into messenger, I get a blank tab and then palemoon (28.16.0 64 bit) hangs and I have to restart. I currently have to have noscript disabled in order to get onto messenger.

It was fine up to the end of last week.

Is there any chance of looking at this?

Does it work in you Allow Globally in NoScript (with no other blockers, uBlock... or whatever, in the way)?

Does it work in other "old" browsers; SeaMonkey, Firefox 52.9, maybe even (oh, what's that other "classic" one ?).

allowing scripts globally doesn't work (nor does running in a private window, which I saw as a workround to a vaguely similar problem in another thread). I've tried clearing cookies and cached information as well.

Not by us, sorry. NoScript Classic is no longer officially supported.

If you know how to investigate this stuff yourself, there is a public source code repository - https://github.com/hackademix/noscript-classic
It's GPL licensed, so feel free to submit pull request there or fork+rebrand.

It stopped working again, and then with the latest update of palemoon - it worked again. There's a notice in the release notes about a script engine bug...
